Letter to the Editor: A proud time for Rio Blanco County

Dear Editor:
Growing up in Rangely, laying to rest in Meeker!
Coach Bill Turner was one of the best men I have ever known.
The progeny, legacy, and respect that he leaves behind is miraculous. Yes he was a fantastic coach and biology teacher, but when you got to know him, he was very wise, straight forward, disciplined, compassionate and had an honest love for people.
He was true to his God, wife, family, himself, and everyone he met. He never belittled anyone and was the first to pat you on the back when things were good or bad.
Some of us learned early in school that if we listened to this man and did as he says and worked as hard as one can, there would be no end to our success.
He was a very humble, tough man, content raising his beautiful family, helping anybody and everybody, especially young people into maturity. His kind advice and knowledge was always available.
He always made time to listen and help solve any problem. He knew and taught the difference between right and wrong, balancing persuasion sometimes with a paddle, but always with a big loving heart.
He was always soft spoken unless you were on your back about to get pinned!
Yes, it was a very proud day for all of us when Bill Turner went to heaven. God greeted his soul with open arms. He gave so much to so many!
