Letters To The Editor, Meeker

Letter to the Editor: Chamber, FFA partner

Dear Editor:
The Meeker Chamber of Commerce has partnered up with the Meeker FFA Chapter to once again provide the community with a fun-filled family night that also celebrates one of Meeker’s oldest and most-honored ranching traditions.
The annual “After Birth Ball” will be hosted this year on May 21, at the Fairfield Center in Meeker, Colo. The night will be filled with delicious food including a choice of tri-tip beef or roasted pork along with exquisite sides and delectable home-made desserts. After dinner, the community is invited to dance the night away to live music provided by, Coy Keithley and the band “Straight Shot” from 8 p.m. to midnight. All proceeds of the event will benefit the Meeker FFA Chapter. Providing needed funds for competing in Scotland, Indianapolis, Ind., Alamosa, Colo., and Fort Collins, Colo., where they will be representing the community, state and nation!
The FFA chapter would love to thank the Meeker Chamber of Commerce for allowing us to help host this prestigious event for our community and for the opportunity to help our members become more knowledgeable about our local traditions, while also showing the community what the new generation of agriculturalists hopes to accomplish. We would also like to thank Enterprise Gas Processing, Encana Oil and Gas, XTO and Williams Production for helping sponsor this event.
We would like to remind everyone that tickets can be purchased at MGM in Meeker, Meeker Chamber of Commerce or any local FFA member. Tickets are $35/couple, $20/individual and $10/child 10 and under.
We hope to see everyone Saturday night, May 21, at the Fairfield Center in Meeker to continue to celebrate this honored and timeless ranching tradition!
Maclaine Shults
Meeker FFA Chapter Vice President
