Letter to the Editor: Letter about Meeker students

Dear Editor:
I was impressed by your editorial in the April 13 Rio Blanco Herald Times.
I knew nothing of all these happenings at the Meeker High School. There were, of course, infringements of students going on the roof of the high school in the past; but that does not and should not affect the young people being brought before the court.
The reasoning given in your editorial was sensible and valid.
I think that sometimes we forget we are no longer in a time when thoughtless acts by teenagers can be overlooked. The world they are going into is not going to be so tolerant.
It is better that they learn these lessons in this community that cares about them than some place where there is no understanding.
