Dear Editor:
Liberals (Democrats) claim to be compassionate empathizers dedicated to protecting the poor or otherwise disadvantaged.
But as William Voegeli points out in the latest edition of “Imprimis,” “It should follow that nothing would preoccupy them more than making sure the welfare machine is functioning at maximum efficiency.”
Instead, their drive seems to be to ever increase the size of the giveaway programs, even when those programs become laden with scandals and fraud.
These programs grow in size every year with little attention paid to making sure only the truly in need benefit from them.
