Dear Editor:
Good and bad teachers come and go. Good and bad administrators come and go. Various schedules (20-, 60- or 90-minute blocks), staggered class lengths, four-day weeks, five-day weeks, special days off all come and go.
I worked in the Meeker School District for 35 years and dealt with all the above. I adapted my teaching style, followed district and state policies, kept my personal ethics and integrity and managed to educate a few students.
Everyone, and I mean everyone, needs to stop whining and complaining and work together to educate our children.
I am proud to see my former students when I go to various places around town.
The education of our youth should be our primary concern. Egos and power struggles have no place in the educational system.

I agree with Mrs. Jordan on the pride I feel seeing my former students around town, out in the world being successful, and thriving.
However, I also think there is a difference between whining and speaking up for what is important. Martin Luther King Jr says:”Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” Albert Einstein has been quotes as saying: “The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.”
What we (teachers, parents, administrators, community members AND students) all need to do is to speak up for injustices against our students’ education and those who provide it (teachers, parents, community members, and students!)
