Dear Editor:
ERBM Recreation and Park District will be hosting its annual event, Pumpkins, Eats ‘n’ Treats, on Oct. 31, and local businesses are requested to help make the event a big success.
Pumpkins, Eats ‘n’ Treats has been a popular and safe destination for our local trick-or-treaters for the past 10 years with ghostly games, scary storytelling, trick-or-treating and the parade of costumes.
To keep with tradition, we are asking local businesses to handout treats to participants. If local business are interested in participating, we encourage you to set up near your store front or at a designated spot on the Rio Blanco County Courthouse lawn (first-come, first-served) around 3:45 p.m. so you may hand out treats to approximately 500 trick-or-treaters from 4 to 6 p.m.
The treats do not have to be candy; they can also be little gifts that carry your logo or represent your place of business. This is a great opportunity to work together to provide a safe and fun avenue for our kids on Halloween.
We look forward to working with the Meeker businesses to bring this fun event for kids and adults to downtown.
If any business is interested in participating in the trick-or-treating, please contact me at the ERBM Recreation and Park District at 878-3403, Ext. 419, or at [email protected] by Oct. 29.
