Letter to the Editor: Thanks for Belize Bingo support

Dear Editor:
My students and I would like to convey thanks to the people who contributed to our Bingo and auction fundraiser last week.
Thanks, especially, to the Meeker Lions Club, which has devoted extraordinary time and effort over the years to organize fundraising events for our organization and many others.
In past expeditions, Meeker students have helped rescue endangered species such as the leatherback turtle, the Galapagos tortoise and echinoderms in the Sea of Cortez.
This summer we will assist with efforts to protect an isolated population of bottle-nose dolphins in Belize. These expeditions and the marvelous opportunities for our students would not be possible without the generous support of the Meeker community. Thank you!
