Dear Editor:
The Meeker Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all who participated in the 2013 Parade of Lights. For those community members who came out to brave the cold, thank you for helping make our community celebration successful.
We were pleased to have more than 20 parade entries in this year’s lineup and, once again, the floats were impressive!
We could not pull off these types of community events without the help of volunteers, and we would like to thank Caleb Dodds, Jim Worrell, Drew Varland, Dale Hallebach, Alan and Karolyn Michalewicz, Gary and Laurie Zellers, Addie Joy, Matilda Brown, McKenna Kummer, the staff at Rio Blanco Herald Times, the Meeker Girls Choir, Shana Holliday, Kim Kummer, Meeker Volunteer Fire and Rescue, White River Electric Association, Pioneers Healthcare Foundation, Margie Joy, Trina Zagar-Brown, Meeker Police Department, the Town of Meeker, and the Meeker Chamber Board of Directors — Leif Joy, president; Wendy Gutierrez, vice president; Kim O’Connell, treasurer; Ann Marie Scritchfield, Cassie McGuire, Lee Overton, Diana Jones, Joe Fennessy, Marti Walsh.
We would also like to thank the Meeker Hotel and Café for allowing us use of the balcony and Rio Blanco County for the use of their sound system.
A big ‘thank you’ goes out to all the parade entries. We definitely couldn’t do a parade without you! Community events like this are the reason many of us choose to call Meeker “home,” and we look forward to a happy and healthy holiday season and a great New Year!
