Letter to the Editor: Thanks for special district participation

Dear Editor:
The Meeker Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the Rio Blanco County special districts, their boards of directors and their executive members for participating in the Meeker Chamber of Commerce Special District Meeting held April 16.
For those unable to attend, the meeting was an informative gathering of our tax-funded special districts within Eastern Rio Blanco County. The goal was to have each special district/local government address the public regarding capital projects, current boards of directors and future plans. The effort put forth by each of the participating districts is greatly appreciated by the Meeker Chamber of Commerce.
Hearing how each entity is investing our tax dollars into programs and services to strengthen the community was very valuable. Their participation showed true leadership and, as taxpayers ourselves, we say, “thank you.”
Attendees included: ERBM Recreation and Park District; Rio Blanco Fire Protection District; Meeker School District; Eastern Rio Blanco County Health Services District (Pioneers Medical Center); Yellow Jacket Water Conservancy District; Piceance Creek Pest Control District; and the Town of Meeker.
The Meeker Chamber of Commerce will continue to help inform our citizens and businesses about our community news, events and happenings. Please watch the local publications for information about our next community meetings.
