Dear Editor:
Meeker’s local P.E.O. Chapter would like to extend a gracious thank you to the community for its support of our fifth annual “Quilts in the Country” Quilt Show and Bake sale held at the Fairfield Center during the Meeker Classic Sheepdog Trials.
This fundraiser enables us to continue to assist women in their educational endeavors as well as allows us to create a scholarship in Meeker, which is open to high school senior girls looking to pursue their secondary education at a vocational or trade school.
We believe that assisting women in all stages of their educational journey is important and we thank you for supporting us in our mission.
We would like to thank the Rio Blanco County commissioners for allowing us to use the Fairfield Center; Mary Cunningham, director of the Meeker Classic for including our Quilt Show in the list of activities; and the Meeker Chamber of Commerce.
This quilt show takes many hands to make it a success, and we thank all who helped by attending. Each year we have new quilts and the show is enjoyed by many visitors and local residents.
