Dear Editor:
Meeker is a town of heroes. Not just military heroes like Tom Kilduff and Ernie Garcia, but the everyday folks who go into action whenever they hear of someone in need.
I have personally benefited from these heroes many times. The most recent examples are the folks who gave up part of their holiday weekend to mow and weed-cut our yard when we were threatened by the Meeker code enforcement officer.
Thank you, Frank and Lois!
Then there are Ron and Peggy, who spent hours over three or four days cutting down box elder trees and pruning out-of-control rose bushes, cutting grass and weeds under large bushes and then hauling it all to the dump!
These folks were strangers. Now I count them as friends, not for what they did, so much but for who they were.
Chevy, you’re my favorite Chevy in the whole world (except my car, Abigail). I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your going up on our roof in all that heat to put sealer on our roof.
Murph, you’re such a great example of what Christians are supposed to be: faithful, loyal, loving the Lord and a servant’s heart. God bless you, Murph.
I love the new step railing and I don’t have to put a pot under the cooler any more.
There are so many more folks I could name, but my fingers would cramp from all that writing and the newspaper wouldn’t have enough space for all of it.
God bless all of you and we’ll always be grateful for all of your kindness!
Corky and Louise Courtright
