Dear Editor:
The Rio Blanco Rural Schools Project team wishes to express its appreciation to the White River Community Association, which generously hosted our fundraiser for the restoration of Coal Creek School at the Buford School on Aug. 30.
We recognize the time and energy they devoted to make this a successful event enjoyed by many who support our goals.
Special thanks also go to the following who donated time and talent: Bryce Purkey for his entertaining auctioneering expertise to spark generous bidding; David Main and his band, which delighted the family crowd with toe tapping and dancing music; and Dan Seely, who enthusiastically and skillfully called newbies into square dancing like experts for the enjoyment of participants and onlookers alike.
To all who donated desserts and opened their pocket books for the Box Social auction, we extend our heartfelt thanks.
We appreciate the great response and participation in our night of old-fashioned fun. Another event is in the planning stages, so everyone can join in the fun again!
