Dear Editor:
The White River and Douglas Creek conservation districts, in partnership with Rio Blanco County, are developing a Land and Resource Use Plan (Plan) for the citizens of Rio Blanco County. The districts and county are requesting input from Rio Blanco County landowners and citizens, and all comments must be submitted on line or to the Conservation District Office by 5 p.m. today.
The key to success in developing this important Plan is a collaborative effort with public input. Therefore, all Rio Blanco County landowners and citizens are strongly encouraged to please visit www.RioBlancoLUP.com for an electronic copy of the plan and directions on how to provide your input in the most efficient manner.
Copies of the plan for review are also available at the Conservation District office in Meeker, the Meeker Public Library, the Rangely Public Library, the Rangely Chamber of Commerce and the County Annex building in Rangely.
When finalized, the plan will be applied to federal regulatory frameworks that govern the management of public lands in regards to the rangeland, soil, water, wildlife, air and energy resources. Federal law requires federal agencies to give meaningful consideration to policies asserted in plans such as this that have been developed by local governments, including conservation districts.
Contact Chris Colflesh or Callie Hendrickson at the conservation district office by calling 970-878-5628, Ext. 101 with any questions regarding the plan and/or providing comments.
