Dear Editor:
My father, Roy Green, was born in Meeker, Colo., in 1919. He is no longer living, but I wanted to visit Meeker, where I was also born.
I made the trip to Colorado from California to find out a little more about my father’s side of our family. We stopped by the White River Museum and met docent Sandra Shimko.
She was so helpful in looking up information.
There was a story about my grandfather’s sister with references to my grandfather. We were able to copy several pages and even a picture of my grandmother. Sandy helped us find the cemetery plots where my grandparents were buried.
Her time and expertise meant so much to me and seeing all the pictures and furniture and items in the museum was a treat.
Thank you Meeker, and White River Sandra, for all the time and valuable information.
Peggy Green
