Rio Blanco County Personal Property Owners:
Owners of taxable personal property may challenge the actual value of their property set by the county assessor from June 16 to July 7. The assessor will be available by appointment only to hear objections and protests to valuations for the 2008 assessment of personal property. Current valuations will become final unless a protest is filed.
Objections to taxable valuations for 2008 must be postmarked no later than July 7. Objections presented in person will be accepted through July 7.

Dear Editor,
On behalf of the Meeker Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank everyone who came out for the first annual Bark in the Park last weekend. This was a very successful day, bringing our community closer, while supporting the bronze mountain lion statue that will be placed on Fifth and Market streets as soon as needed funds are raised.
