MEEKER — The chamber of commerce was pleased to assist Rio Blanco Masonic Lodge No. 80 AF&AM celebrate the completion of renovations to the exterior of the lodge.
As part of the Jan. 19 celebration, a luncheon was provided by the Bistro on Park Avenue, followed by a presentation on Shriner’s Hospitals for crippled children and burn victims given by John Long, a representative from the El Jebel Shrine in Denver.
Chuck Mills, master of the lodge for the past two years and the representative of the worshipful grand lodge of Colorado as District 12 lecturer, presided over the installation of new lodge officers for the 2008 ceremony where Bernie Gantt was named the new master of the lodge; Dwayne Newman, senior warden; Hal Pearce, junior warden; Kevin Amack, treasurer; J.H. Sheridan as secretary; Jerry Seely as senior deacon; Rich Parr as junior deacon and senior steward; and Steve Parr as tiler and junior steward.
After the installation of officers, Bernie Gantt, on behalf of the officers and members of the lodge, presented Chuck Mills with an antique masonic gold medal in recognition of his continuous support of masonry and in particular as a thank you for his creative workmanship and guidance these past two years as the master of the lodge.
