MEEKER I To commemorate the sesquicentennial anniversary of the presidency and life history of Abraham Lincoln, one of America’s greatest presidents, the Meeker Arts and Cultural Council (MACC) and the Rio Blanco County Historical Society (RBCHS) will jointly sponsor an encore performance by John Voehl of Littleton in mid-February.
Voehl will return at 7 p.m. on Tuesday to the Meeker High School Auditorium. A second show will be performed on Wednesday for students in the district at a time yet to be announced.
Voehl entertained youth and adult audiences with his performances in March 2013. He offers a wide range of Lincoln stories and anecdotes in his performance repertoire that previous audiences may not have experienced.
All persons are invited and welcomed to attend this outstanding performance.
Media quotes on Mr. Voehl’s performances include:
“Voehl is living history as the 16th President of the United States. He has become an expert on the man who fought to guarantee that all men are treated equal. ‘They (the kids) were enthralled with Lincoln, It wasn’t me, it was Lincoln,’ Voehl said.”
