MCWC hosts tournament

MEEKER I The Meeker Community Wrestling Club’s youth team will host the Casey Turner Memorial Tournament on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. More than 60 wrestlers are out for the team this season; more than 35 wrestled in Rifle and most are expected to wrestle in Meeker on Saturday.
“The kids wrestled well in Rifle and it’s always great to see we are improving from week to week,” head youth coach Carl Padilla said.
Domonic Wyatt, Finley Deming, Reed Goedert, Noah LeBlanc, along with brothers Cade and Connor Blunt, all won gold medals in their weights.
Kaden Franklin, Dax Sheridan and Kesston Hobbs all won silver medals, while Dillon Hobbs, Robert Foster, Ty Goedert, Trapper McGruder and Tannen Kennedy all finished as consolation champs.
Sydnie Ross, Hayden Shults, Trae Kennedy and Russell McGruder all placed fourth.
Wyatt Ross, Aksel Jonsson, Tristin Rollins, Cody Richardson, Rian Hinden, Wil Schwartz, Dathan Dade, Dublin Price, William Foster, Wyatt Rollins, Adrianna Price, Levi Caulfield, Anders Jonsson, Dagon Dade, Elijah LeBlanc, Damon Dade, Parker Pontine, Colby Clatterbaugh, Jon Baker and Justin George all wrestled but did not place.
“I hope everyone comes out to support our youth wrestlers Saturday,” Padilla said.
