MEEKER I The Meeker Community Wrestling Club youth team entered 44 wrestlers in the Hayden Tournament and 25 placed in the top four, including eight champions.
“We had a good day in Hayden,” youth coach Carl Padilla said. “Our kids wrestled really well; they continue to improve and it’s great to see guys move forward.”
Domonic Wyatt, Ty Goedert, Noah LeBlanc, Cade and Connor Blunt, Dillon Hobbs, Brendan Clatterbaugh and Ridge Williams all won gold medals. Nathan Smith, Kesston Hobbs, Clay Randall, Russell McGruder and Finley Deming were all awarded silver medals.
Consolation champions for Meeker’s youth team were Reed Goedert, Connor Padilla, Elijah LeBlanc, Kelton Turner, Tannen and Trae Kennedy and Colby Clatterbaugh. Dublin Price, Wyatt Ross, Kaleb Nielsen, Dagon Dade and Kaden Franklin all finished fourth. Aksel Jonsson, Tristin Rollins, Wyatt Rollins, Wil Schwartz, Snowdon Williams, Dathan Dade, Coy Richardson, Cody Richardson, Dillon Pretti, Levi Caulfield, Justin George, Liam Deming, Austin Lopez, Landin Lopez, Rian Hinden, Robert Foster, William Foster, Damon Dade and Cooper Michels all wrestled matches, but did not place.
Correction
Snowden Williams, Kelton Turner, Connor Padilla and Dillon Hobbs were incorrectly listed in last week’s Herald Times as placing fourth, when actually, they all finished as consolation champions in their respective brackets.
