Meeker police officer Glenn Wilson keeps an eye on the container of outdated or unwanted prescription drugs turned in by area residents Saturday as part of the local version of the National Drug Take-Back Day. Wilson said quite a few residents took advantage of the take-back opportunity, during which the police department will dispose of the drugs — with no questions asked — through the state collection of the medications. Several Meeker residents took advantage of the 14 bicycles up for silent auction on Saturday as part of the Meeker Drug Take-Back event. The bikes had been refurbished and auctioned off, leaving behind a group of happy bicyclists whose bids won them a new — but slightly used — set of wheels.
