Meeker chamber holds election

MEEKER I Ten names are on the ballot to be mailed to all members of the Meeker Chamber of Commerce this month, as the organization holds an election to seat five new board members.Incumbents Katie Conrado (Meeker Sand and Gravel) and Randy Ridgeway (R&T Enterprises) will be on the ballot for reelection, after serving two-year terms.Others on the ballot include Patty Coquoz (Jason’s Automotive), Jeff Eskelson (Rocky Mountain Bowstrings), Maddie Glidden (Elk Creek Ranch), Wendy Gutierrez (Wendll’s Wondrous Things), Diana Jones (Meeker Drugs), Justin Slaugh (Clark’s), Alicia Watt and Mike Weinbrecht (ERBM Park and Recreation District).Official ballots are due back Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, and the outcome will be announced at the regular board meeting Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011.The five newly-elected board members will join the current board consisting of Cassie McGuire (current vice president), Kim O’Connell (current treasurer) Joe Fennessy, Michele Morgan (Blue Spruce Inn) and Ann Marie Scritchfield (Sable Mountain Outfitters). Current chamber president Margie Joy (Pioneers Medical Center) and chamber members Scott Merritt (ExxonMobil) and this reporter did not run for reelection.The mission of the Meeker Chamber of Commerce is to support the development of a strong business community.
