MEEKER I The Lady Cowboys had mixed results last week.
On Friday, Meeker’s volleyball team traveled to Plateau Valley, winning in three games (25-9, 25-8, 25-16).
“We limited unforced errors and we served well,” said coach Christy Atwood.
But on Saturday, it was a different result. The Lady Cowboys hosted Soroco, losing in three games (15-25, 22-25, 16-25).
“In the Plateau Valley games, we limited our forced errors to less than 10, but in the Soroco match, we couldn’t seem to go a possession without an error,” Atwood said.
Meeker will host West Grand on Friday, with matches starting at 4, 5 and 6 p.m.
While the season may not be starting out exactly the way the defending league champion Lady Cowboys expected, they are gaining valuable experience.
“This road may be a lot bumpier than we anticipated at the beginning of the season,” Atwood said, “but we will make it to the end a stronger, smarter team.”
