MEEKER | The Meeker Farmers Market has announced its 2017 market dates. The market will be held once a month on Saturdays, June through September, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The dates will be: June 3, July 15, Aug. 5 and Sept. 9. The centrally located market will be held outside the Meeker Courthouse on Main Street between Fifth and Sixth streets.
The market will feature local Colorado vendors ranging from produce to various food products, grass-fed and sustainable meats, handmade artisan goods like soaps and personal care items and homemade all natural gourmet treats.
Each market date was carefully selected to coordinate with a local community event to help drive traffic. These local events and the 2017 Meeker Farmers Market are part of the Meeker Agritourism community outreach program that aims to enhance Meeker’s tourism, making it a destination location.
The June 3 market will coordinate with Meekerpalooza, located at Ute Park.
The July 15 market will coordinate with Meeker Days.
The Aug. 5 market will coordinate with the Rio Blanco County Fair.
The Sept. 9 market will coordinate with the Meeker Classic Sheepdog Championship Trials and the first annual Jammin’ Lamb Festival and will be the only market to last all day because of the numerous events going on downtown.
