Meeker’s elementary school is not the only new western slope elementary school that has had to find new places to put students. Rifle’s new elementary school was closed last week when some 22 students and teachers were transferred by ambulance to the hospital after being overcome by mysterious fumes.Sept. 11 marks the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center.Not only is this week the first week of school, it’s the 25th anniversary of the Meeker Classic Sheepdog Trials! Kudos to the founders, volunteers, committee members and everyone else who has been involved with the trials for the past quarter century.
