“School days, school days, dear old golden rule days …” Back to school season is upon us, so please watch out for students walking, bicycling and yes, driving, to and from school. And don’t forget to pay attention to our school buses, as well.
In a time of national financial strain, it would seem logical that discounted food programs like SHARE Colorado would thrive, but the Food Share America organization filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month.
While it probably isn’t true for Meekerites, the average American eats 10 meals a month at fast food restaurants. Good thing those fast food joints aren’t serving discounted meals, or they might be filing for bankruptcy, too.
We were sad to see Meeker’s version of a five and dime, Connie’s, posted a “closing soon” sign in their window.
