Meeker Locals

As we cross into the month of March this week, the idiom “in like a lion, out like a lamb” comes to mind. According to the familiar proverb, if the month of March begins cold and snowy, it will end gently  with warm, spring-like weather. We shall see.
Our condolences, as well as those of the entire community, go out to the Sizemore family after the tragic death of their son, James, last weekend. And get-well-soon wishes to former Meeker resident John Jacobs, who was seriously injured in an ATV accident in Montrose, Colo.
A belated 25th anniversary congratulations to Mike and Susan Knezovich last week! Happy belated birthday to Cathy Smith, Feb. 22.
Happy birthday yesterday to Lindsey Miller, Feb. 23. Happy birthday this week to Hadley Franklin, Feb. 25; Iola Hicken, Bill Kracht, Robby Jensen and Becky Meyer, Feb. 26; Clay Caldwell and Emily McCoy, Feb. 27; Denver Hayes, Melayni Wangnild, Matt Jensen, Sean Lafton, Sandy Shaw and Hanna Borchard, Feb. 28. And our very own Meg Bettis, born Feb. 29. But we’ll wish her a happy birthday anyway, because once every four years is just not enough! Happy birthday also to Martha Cole and Joseph Scherbarth, March 1; Ted Gilchrist, Patrick Love, Nori Pearce, March 2; Tia McKee and Sam Nieslanik, March 3.
Happy anniversary to Brad and Jessica Wikoff, and Gus and Christine Halandras. Both couples who got married in Leap Years on Feb. 29. Well, marriage is a leap of faith!
