It might be safe to put away the snow shovels now. Maybe. But we might need to trade them for oars. Beware of high water in the coming weeks. Not just in the river, but along area creeks and drainage ditches. The sudden impact of toasty weather is likely to produce an intense runoff from the higher than usual snowpack in the mountains.
Your perception of a situation determines your reality, as proved in last week’s feature article. Lifelong Meeker resident Lucy Jane Howey said one of the ways Meeker has changed over the years is in the number of different stores we have and being able to “get everything we need” at them. If we all adopted that positive attitude, Meeker’s economy would be sure to improve.
