Meeker Locals: June 11 edition

Meeker Drug’s fire sale on the courthouse lawn last weekend was as much a social event as it was a bargain hunter’s dream. Folks gathered, not just to peruse the deals, but to offer their support and sympathy to the Blagg’s and their staff. We all look forward to the eventual return of one of downtown Meeker’s business icons.
One of the prizes at the 4-H carnival a couple weeks ago was live goldfish. A great idea, except there was run on fish chow at Watt’s Ranch Market afterwards. After learning that goldfish eat mosquito larvae — and having plenty of those in an unused horse tank — our fish went ‘plop’ into the tank and began gobbling like it was fishy Thanksgiving. The only problem, now we need more fish. And you can’t buy those here, either.
Had enough rain yet? Don’t worry, one of these days we’ll be able to gripe about how dry everything is.
