Meeker Locals: June 19, 2008

MEEKER — Tomorrow, June 20, is the official start of summer, otherwise known as the summer solstice. Maybe now it will stop snowing. At least for a few weeks. We had reports of flurries as late as last Wednesday morning. What’s special about the summer solstice? It’s the longest day of the year. Therefore, tomorrow is the day you might be able to complete everything on your to-do list, as there will be about 14 1/2 hours of daylight. And then it’s all downhill from there.
Happy birthday this week to Krysten Atchley, Hank Crawford, Paulette Hanks and Dalton Rholl, June 19; Bobby Gutierrez, Fain Richardson and Jerrod Merriam, June 20; Glen Glasgow and Martha Taylor, June 21; Peggy Back, June 22; Roberta Kinnamon and C.J. Wangnild, June 23; Tylor Hearn, Torrance Hughes, Trey Morris and Andy Jones, June 24; Wade Shults and Mary Strang, June 25.
Happy anniversary to Bernada and Bret Jaeger, June 19; Jerry and Georgia Schultz, June 19; Mike and Mary Washburn, June 19; Rich and Carol Parr, June 20; David and Martha Cole, June 20; Albert and Mary Kay Krueger, June 25 Happy belated anniversary to Don and Melba LeFevre, who celebrated 58 years together June 17.
