Meeker locals: May 28 edition

It was a chill and rainy Memorial Day/graduation weekend. Kind of a downer for the backyard barbecue enthusiast, but good for keeping things green. I hope you remembered to thank our servicemen and servicewomen in the armed forces.
Safe and happy travels to the Barone Middle School eighth-graders and their chaperones as they embark on their whirlwind Washington, D.C. trip this week.
The fire on the downtown block this weekend was a scary reminder of the fragility of our historic downtown. We wish the drugstore staff all the best as they sort through the mess, and look forward to a grand re-opening soon.
Glad to hear Ran Cochran is feeling better. In his own words, he’s as “sassy” as ever. Look out, Meeker!
