MEEKER | The Town of Meeker is embarking on a community planning project, named “Meeker Moving Forward.” Meeker Moving Forward is a project that seeks meaningful engagement with our community to determine what type of place we want Meeker to become over the next 10-15 years. The goal of the project is to spark community dialogue to identify our shared values, our vision and goals for Meeker’s future and our ideas for specific strategies/actions that can be implemented to achieve our desired future.
The purpose of the project is to develop a community-driven strategy to be used to guide the physical and economic development of our community. Ultimately, we will create a document that sets forth our shared vision and goals for Meeker, with recommendations for achieving our vision and goals and it will include an implementation action plan for getting things done.
In order to do this successfully the town needs input from the community. Our hope is to gather input on what you love/cherish about Meeker, what type of place you would like Meeker to become and what opportunities and challenges you think Meeker is facing and your ideas for addressing those.
Join us and share your input at these community events: Envision Meeker Workshop, 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23 and Envision Meeker Open House, 12-1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24. Both events will be held at the Meeker Public Library at 490 Main St.
