MEEKER I She used to be known as Melisa Oldland. Now she’s known as Melisa Liberman.
But she’s still using the same lessons today that she learned growing up on her family’s Rio Blanco County ranch.
Liberman, daughter of Jerry and Stephanie Oldland, was recently recognized by the Denver Business Journal as one of its Outstanding Women in Business.
In an issue of the magazine published in August, Liberman, 34, was one of the women profiled in the 11th annual Outstanding Women in Business special section.
As executive vice president with IQNavigator — a provider of on-demand services procurement software and managed software programs — Liberman has quickly risen through the ranks.
In the Denver Business Journal article, she talks about the lessons she learned growing up.
“Liberman envisioned her future at an early age while growing up on a multigenerational cattle ranch her family homesteaded in western Colorado. She said she was always interested in business and learned lessons watching her dad manage the ranch.”
Jerry Oldland is a member of the Meeker School Board.
Rather than staying on the ranch, Liberman, a 1993 Meeker High School graduate, chose a different path. She attended the University of Colorado and majored in political science. Since joining IQNavigator in 2000, she set herself apart as a leader.
“She’s the kind of person when you first meet, you know they’re destined for great things in their career,” said the company’s chief operating officer John Martin.
