MEEKER I Thirty-two peewee wrestlers from Meeker competed in the Craig tournament Saturday and 23 placed in the top four, including seven champions.
Brothers Kelton and Casey Turner, Tannen Kennedy, Wyatt Pfau, Jake Shelton, Colton Wille and Cody Nielsen all won their respective brackets.
Ty Goedert, Anthony Holland-Gonzalez, Sheridan Harvey, Caleb Bradford, Dillon Frantz, Aaron Cochran and Brayden Garcia all finished as runners-up. Jesus Holland-Gonzalez, Kesston Hobbs, James Amick, Kasia Cochran, Austin Russell, Joshua Cochran and Doak Mantle were consolation champions, while Jeffery Cole and Daylon Nielsen finished fourth.
Elijah LeBlanc and Ashton Seibert wrestled in their first tournament but did not place. Kaleb Nielsen, Kale Burke, Garret Frantz, Anna Castle, Jared Owens and Sam Alldredge also entered the tournament but did not place. Logan Hughes was injured in his second match and did not finish.
Several wrestlers will travel to Hayden to wrestle this Saturday and Meeker will host its tournament April 17. A dual meet for Meeker’s kindergarten through second-graders will be held April 16.
