Meeker Recreation Center News: April 10, 2008


n New sessions of After School Mania are in progress from now until the end of the school year. Register for one, a few or all classes. Mondays and Tuesdays are for first- through third-graders, Wednesdays is for preK-kindergarten, Thursdays is for fourth- through sixth-graders. Cost is $3 per day and includes a hands-on activity and healthy snack.
n Baseball and fast pitch registration deadline is April 24. Register early. Only 15 players per team. However, if the team you want to register for is full, please put your name on the waiting list. If the numbers warrant, we may form more than one team in any given age bracket.
n Ladies’ Night Out at the pool will be Sunday, April 13 and Sunday, April 27 from 5-6 p.m. Cost is $3. Only ladies older than 21 will be allowed. No kids; no guys!
n The pool will be closed to open swimmers April 12-13 from 8 a.m. to noon for junior lifeguard training. Lap swimmers and water walkers are OK.
n The pool will be closed during swim lessons from 5:45-7:45 p.m., on Mondays and Wednesdays, April 14-May 7.
n Aqua Fitness classes began April 7. Details are in the April-Nov. brochure, or call, come in or go online.
n Fitness classes for all levels in the pool and in the studio are available morning, afternoon and evenings. Details are in the April-Nov. brochure. Register online at www.meekerrecdistrict.com, call or visit the Rec. Center.
n Free fitness room orientations will be held April 21, 10:30-11:30 a.m. for seniors.
n Painting workshop for adults will be May 5, 6, 7. Drawing to improve your paintings will be the emphasis.
n Busy Builders woodworking camp for adults and children will be April 21-May 7. Cost is $20.
n Adult swim lessons will be April 15-May 8, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-7:15 a.m. Cost is $25.
n The April-July brochure is now available. If you did not receive one in your mailbox, you can get one at the MRC. Look for details on swim lessons, baseball and fast pitch, after school programs, aquatic fitness programs and much more.
