Meeker Recreation Center News: July 24, 2008

n Jazz, Tap and Pre K-Kindergarten dance academies begin the week of July 21. There are programs available for all grades. Date, time and cost vary. Check the April-July brochure, go online or call the center for details. Academy participants will perform in the Nov. 9 dance recital. Registration deadline for academy classes is Aug. 7.
n Adult tap begins July 22. The class for anyone ages 18 and over meets on Tuesday from 7:15-8:15 p.m. Cost is $40. Recital performance is optional.
n Yoga stretch for all ages will run June 11-Sept. 24, on Wednesdays from 9:30-10:30 a.m. This is a drop-in fitness class. Walk-in fee is $4 with fitness passes available for a lower per class rate. Instructor is Joan Klose.
n For safety reasons, the Meeker Rec. Center pool closes during lightning storms. If in doubt, it is recommended that you call ahead.
n Cowboy football camp which benefits the MHS football team will be Aug 4-6; fifth- through eighth-graders from 4:30-6:30 p.m.; ninth- through twelfth-graders from 6:45-8:30 p.m. Cost is $20.
n Flag Football for third- and fourth-grade boys and girls will be Aug. 6-7 from 6-7 p.m. and Aug. 8 from 9-10 a.m.; both days at the Sixth Street Field.
N Micro Soccer for boys and girls ages 3 and 4 will be Aug. 5-Aug. 21 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:45-6:30 p.m. at Paintbrush Park. Cost is $12.50.
