Meeker Recreation Center News: June 12, 2008

n The 2008 free summer entertainment series begins Friday, June 20 featuring The Osborns Variety Band. The concert will be from 6 p.m. until dark on the courthouse lawn at 550 Main in Meeker. Bring your own seating.
n Science camp for second- to third-graders is June 24ñ27 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Cost is $10. Hands-on experiments in various science disciplines will be explored.
n Free fitness room orientation for seniors will be June 16 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Free fitness room orientation for teens will be June 17 from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
n Yoga Stretch for all ages will run June 11-Sept. 24, on Wednesdays from 9:30-10:30 a.m. This is a drop-in fitness class. Walk-in fee is $4 with fitness passes available for a lower per class rate. Instructor is Joan Klose.

n Free community garden located near the upper parking lot at the MRC has a few spaces left. It’s not too late to plant. Call or stop by for more information.
n Adult soccer players who have been using the Sixth Street goals, please note: the goals will be moved to Irwin Baseball Field, near the fairgrounds, in the near future. You are encouraged to use them at the new location.
