n Free Pumpkins, Eats and Treats will be held on Friday, Oct. 31 and will include a costume contest, costume parade, trick or treating at downtown businesses and food. Participants should meet at the Meeker Elementary School at 5 p.m. for the costume judging at 5:15 p.m. The parade will move down Main Street at 5:30 p.m., followed by trick or treating and a meal on the courthouse lawn.
n Junior lifeguard training will be Saturday, Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon and Sunday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for ages 13-15. Cost is $30. Class will prepare students for future employment as lifeguards. The pool will be closed to the public during these classes.
n The dance academies’ recital will be Sunday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. in the Meeker High School auditorium. Everyone is invited to this free event.
n Ladies Night Out at the pool will be held Sunday, Nov. 16, from 5-6 p.m. For $3 ladies only, age 21 and older, can use the pool which includes the slide, whirlpool, diving board, leisure pool and lap pool. Refreshments will be served. Memberships do not apply.
n Morning Star Tone, a new water and land fitness class, will begin Nov. 3. The class will be held from 5:30-6:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
