Meeker Town Park grand re-opening this Saturday

MEEKER | The Eastern Rio Blanco Metropolitan (ERBM) Recreation and Park District is pleased to announce the completion and grand re-opening of the Town Park renovation project.
Several years in the making, the park upgrade started with a public engagement process in 2012 on a full remodel concept design as part of ERBM’s agency master plan. The full remodel was divided into two phases, with the first phase on the north side of the park being completed in 2013.
The second, and final, phase of improvements began in fall of 2016 to allow for best access to the river bank during the times of lowest water flow. Construction picked up again in early 2017 to complete the following amenities: river bank access with tiered stone seating areas, connected concrete walkways along the river with interpretive wayside features highlighting the Flattop region, concrete and asphalt parking lots, three electrical RV/camper hookups, enhanced dump station area, hardscape activity pavilion area with basketball, pickleball, volleyball, and horseshoe pits, significant civil work to improve drainage and a restroom remodel.
Upon completion, these two phases of improvements represent approximately $2-million worth of investment into this significant park location along the White River.
ERBM would like to thank the Town of Meeker staff and Trustees for their cooperation, as well as the numerous consultants, contractors, suppliers, and vendors who worked diligently over the last few years to deliver such a tremendous amenity to the Meeker community. ERBM would also like to thank the community for their patience with the extended park closure and believe the results are well worth the wait.
Please join ERBM at Town Park (20 South Fourth Street – corner of Water Street and Fourth Street) on Sept. 30 for the grand re-opening dedication ceremony.
