MEEKER I The Meeker Police Department concluded an investigation into criminal trespass and burglary cases earlier this week this past week. Nine juveniles were referred to court on 27 counts.
Meeker Police Lt. Phil Stubblefield reported that the juveniles—ranging in age from 13 to 17 years—had allegedly been entering houses that were not lived in or were just used for storage. Some of the property owners did not know their property had been entered until notified by the investigating officer.
In a separate case, a 17-year-old male was taken to juvenile detention in Grand Junction for allegedly assaulting his stepmother and for criminal mischief.
Two juveniles were also referred to court for “tagging,” which is classified as criminal mischief. The two allegedly spray painted on numerous outdoor walls of businesses in Meeker.
