MEEKER I The Second Annual Meeker Arts and Cultural Council’s (MACC) Meekerpalooza Arts and Music Festival will be held Saturday in different parts of the Meeker Town Park.
A palooza is defined as a suggestively large event containing many smaller events, or a lot of small things going on inside a larger thing. That’s Meekerpalooza.
The event offers fun for the entire family in the heart of downtown Meeker. Meekerpalooza will showcase all aspects of dance, singing, music, visual and culinary arts.
Activities include live music performances, workshops and demonstrations, an interactive kid art zone, an arts and crafts fair and A Taste of Meeker.
The free arts and crafts fair will run from noon to 7 p.m. in Meeker Town Park.
From 3 to 10 p.m. in Circle Park, across the bridge from the town park, will be the Kids’ Art Zone, A Taste of Meeker and live music. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10 years of age.
Music on stage will include performances by Josh Rogan, Hotter Than Grits, Casserole Beans and more.
MACC’s mission is to inspire and educate artists and community through promotion, advocacy, and enhancement of cultural and artistic efforts. It is a non-profit group striving to provide a positive economic, cultural and educational impact in Meeker.
All proceeds from Meekerpalooza will help achieve MACC’s mission and promote similar events.
