is the co-owner of Rio Blanco Herald Times in Colorado. During the past 22 years, he has worked as a reporter, designer, salesperson and manager at newspapers in Arkansas, Kansas and Colorado. Bettis served as director of advertising and marketing for the Southwest Daily Times and general manager for the Shopper's Weekly, both in Liberal, Kan. Bettis served as publisher of the Craig (Colo.) Daily Press for two years before publishing The Aspen (Colo.) Times. He and his wife Meg purchased the Herald Times in 2001.



Jackson and big brother

Jackson has been playing soccer (with his coach Dad and assistant coach Mom, playing Bob the Builder and impersonating a pirate. He has been keeping a close "eye" on the Southern Office.

Deb Pettijohn
Deb Pettijohn is the office manager of the Rio Blanco Herald Times. She handles the legal notices, classified advertising, subscriptions, helps Meg with the billing and oversees the front office. Deb started with the Meeker Herald in 1992. Since then, she has worked for five different publishers, helped the Meeker office move three times and the Rangely office relocate twice. She has played a major role in the transformation of the Meeker Herald and Rangely Times newspapers into The Rio Blanco Herald Times.
Deb also has 12 years work experience with federal, state and county government.
