MEEKER | The VFW, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Posts will be conducting a Memorial Day observance at the Circle Park bridge in Meeker Town Park on Monday at 9:30 a.m. or 0930 for the old military types. Any veterans who would like to participate should arrive at 0900 at the bridge.
WWII veteran Pete Kiser will be dropping a wreath into the White River to commemorate those who gave their lives to protect this great nation. This will be followed by a playing of Taps and a 21-gun salute. There will be a second memorial ceremony at the Meeker Cemetery immediately following the ceremony at the Circle Park bridge.
