The 2016 Meeker High School Prom Royal Court was announced before the beginning of the dancing at the prom, which was held Saturday evening at the Hugus Building to a nearly full house. Members of the royalty, from left in the back row: Attendants Jake Nielsen and Caitlyn Shepherd, Attendants Devon Pontine and Jenna Walsh, and Queen Kadie Hummel and King Nick Burri. In the front row are youth attendants Carson Blunt, left, and Raegan Clatterbaugh.A good portion of the junior and senior classes enjoyed the dancing on Saturday night that accompanied the 2016 MHS Junior/Senior Prom held in the Hugus Building after a class dinner at the Meeker Cafe. The junior class-sponsored event was well-attended and well-received by the students who partied on until 1 a.m. The Grand March began the event at 9 p.m., when all dates were introduced.
Join the Meeker High School Drama department for their production of Emma TONIGHT for opening day! Performances through Saturday at 7pm. Tickets are $5 and is a family friendly production.
MHS senior Ryan Sullivan pitching for the Cowboys against Steamboat. Coming off a series of wins against Monte Vista, Steamboat and Cedaredge, the Cowboys play Grand Valley on Saturday, April 20. RHS junior Marcos Quintana pitching for the Panthers. The Panthers play the Aspen Skiers today at home following wins against Dove Creek on April 13.

On April 4, the Meeker Lions Club installed new shelving units for the New Eden Pregnancy Care Center. New Eden asked the Lion’s Club to help them come up with more storage for items within the building, and the Lion’s Club raised money to purchase shelves. OPAL MUNGER PHOTO
