MEEKER I The Class of 2017, this year’s Junior Class, is hosting Meeker High School’s Junior-Senior “A Shabby Chic” Prom on Saturday at the Hugus Building.
The formal events begin at the Meeker Café with dinner served at 7:15 p.m.
Seating is first-come, first-served and the doors open at 7 p.m. The $15 tickets must have been purchased at the school this week as there will be no ticket sales at the door.
Madeline Amack, a junior and high school student council co-president, said that expectations are for about 120 student participants—30 of these being seniors and 60 being juniors.
The Grand March will take place down the sidewalk between the café and the Hugus Building at 8:30 p.m. Royalty will be crowned at this time.
The dance will be held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
The Meeker community—especially parents—is invited to come witness and photograph the Grand March. The 500 block of Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic for the march.
Dancing will be to music provided by Boogie Down Light and Sound DJ services of Rifle. Formal attire is expected.
