MEEKER I Meeker High School students produced an abundance of art this year and it was displayed at the Meeker Elementary School library for the Spring Show and Coffee House.
The coffee house was held to showcase student performing arts. Talents included singing, instrumentals, poetry, dance and humor.
Meeker artist Pat Daggett juried this year’s show and spent a full day contemplating her choices. Daggett is a local professional artist who runs the Upstairs Gallery and has work displayed around the country. She chose a Best of Show for each grade level.
For the ninth grade, Jake Henderson won for a scratchboard drawing of a goose head. Paige Jones won the 10th-grade honors for a large oil painting of an octopus, and Jake Boesch won for the 11th grade with a pen and ink pointillism piece. Taylor Bair was awarded best of show for the 12th grade with an oil painting of a tower.
The show was all second-semester work divided into three categories: painting including watercolors, acrylics and oils; drawing including pencil, pen and ink, pastels and charcoal; three-dimensional art including hand built clay, wheel work and sculpture.
