MEEKER I Aspen High School hosted the Chris Severy Invitational Saturday, and the JV girls’ race was the first of the day for Meeker. Lacey Ford’s first time on the course found her finishing in fourth place in a time of 31:03. The JV boys were next on the start line and Alex Murray and Josh Dinwiddie both ran hard to finish in 18th and 19th places, 31:01.2 and 31:01.4. Zach Harman’s first race at Aspen had him crossing the line in 34:13 for 23rd place.
The varsity races followed and Julia Eskelson managed the course in 24:25, good for 12th place. The boys’ race finished the day and Austin Russell captured second place in 19:29. Tannen Kennedy was again Meeker’s second to finish, 16th overall with 22:07. Clay Anderson was next in for the Cowboys at 23:42 and 30th place. Pake Burke followed in 47th place at 25:58, and Christopher Strate was Meeker’s fifth scorer with a time of 26:21 and 51st place. The Meeker boys were fourth as a team.
Meeker will participate in the Rifle Invitational held at Rifle Creek Golf Course on Thursday.
