MEEKER | The Meeker International Ecology Program (MIEP) is pleased to announce that Ann Franklin will be taking over as general manager. Dr. Bob Dorsett will continue to assist. High school-age students interested in joining the next project should contact Franklin. Planning for a trip in Spring 2020 will begin soon.
MIEP partners with Ecology Project International to provide opportunities for Meeker students to participate in scientific research and conservation projects overseas. Since its inception in 2005, more than 100 Meeker students have taken part in projects such as leatherback turtle conservation in Costa Rica, studies of jaguar behavior in Belize, coral reef conservation also in Belize, restoration of tortoise habitat in the Galapagos Islands, and monitoring marine ecosystems in the Sea of Cortez.
