More Views of a Very Busy Weekend in Rio Blanco County

The wind was starting to move in late Saturday morning as Meeker High School Principal Dr. Kim Ibach presented closing remarks to the graduates, wishing them all a bright future. Ibach had also presented the welcome, which opened the ceremony.

Ethan Allred, who had the highest grade point upon graduation from Rangely High School on May 24, gave the valedictorian’s speech at the ceremony in the RHS gymnasium. Allred told his classmates that this is the time to celebrate the start of the rest of their lives, but he also reminded them of the need to work hard, to never give up and to realize that how you deal with problems is what determines your character.

The Rangely Elks Club presented six $200 scholarships to members of the Class of 2015 at the Rangely High School Commencement on May 24. From the left are: Elks representative Rachel LeBleu and seniors Mitchell Webber and Dawn Stephens. Other seniors to receive scholarships from the Elks included Jessica Tolley, Simone Heinle, Jason VandenBrink and Stephanie Tuck.
