RANGELY I After a few years without a cross country team, the Rangely Panthers are entering their second year coming off a successful first. In their first year back the boys’ team qualified as a team to compete at the state championship meet and are looking to repeat. The team will be led by Scoggins, who finished 17th at the state championships. Tanner and Dale Nielsen are the other returning runners looking forward to competing after putting in some good miles over the summer. Joining the team are freshman runners Webber, Way and Allred, who hope to make an immediate impact on the team. Both Silva-McKay and Slagle are trying their hand at cross country for the first time and look forward to establishing the girls’ program. The boys’ team was noted on Colorado’s milesplit.com as one of the top 10 upwardly mobile teams and they are certainly hoping to live up to that. They begin the season in Delta on Sept. 2, 2011.
