Meeker Classic fun at half price
MEEKER | The Meeker Classic is Rio Blanco County’s headliner for September, and the organizing committee wants to see every RBC resident out there. Not into dogs and sheep? Check out the delicious food offerings, fabulous handmade or agriculture related crafts, and a wide variety of demonstrations and seminars. For RBC residents, tickets are half price if purchased at Wendll’s Wondrous Things or the Meeker Chamber of Commerce. That’s $15 for an adult 5-day pass, $5 for one day. RBC seniors (65+) and those between 8-16 join the fun for $2 a day or $7 for 5 days. Children under 8 are always admitted free. Discounted tickets are not available at the gate, so stop in at Wendll’s or the chamber.

Get baptized in the White River Aug. 26
MEEKER | If you live in the Meeker area/Rio Blanco County, and you would like to be baptized in the White River, Pastor Joseph Cardile of New Creation Church of Meeker, will be down at Circle Park Sunday afternoon around 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. baptizing anyone and everyone that desires to be. You do not need to attend our church or any church to be baptized. If you have always wanted to be baptized and never have, or if you have, but would like to be “re-baptized” Sunday is your opportunity. Bring your friends and family, a camera, and a towel, to be a part of this very powerful time. Call 970-878-3161 and leave a message for more information.

Time to join the Rangely Outdoor Museum
RANGELY | It is time to renew or become a new member of the Rangely Outdoor Museum. A renewal form can be found on page 4 of this week’s edition of the Herald Times. Please fill it out and return to; Rangely Outdoor Museum, P.O. Box 131, Rangely, Colo., 81641. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Regulation without representation
MEEKER | Harriet M. Hageman, a water, natural resource and agriculture attorney from Cheyenne, Wyo., will be speaking at the fairgrounds in Meeker on Aug. 29. Please join us to learn how federal and state regulations are destroying our economy, stifling job growth and harming our environment. Hageman will describe the economic impact of the run-away regulations, the true cost of the regulatory burden in this country, and describe how the executive branch of government is slowly but surely undermining our constitutional rights and liberties.
This event is hosted by the White River and Douglas Creek Conservation Districts.
